Hokkaido University is seeking applicants for the Hokkaido University President’s Fellowship. This scholarship is for prospective international students who wish to enter in Master’s, Professional, or Doctoral Degree programs. Applicants must possess an excellent academic record as well as a strong interest in Hokkaido University and Japanese culture.  

Applicants should be recommended from one of the partner universities of Hokkaido University. For details, please see the application guidelines below.

Hokkaido University Special Grant Program for Self-Supported International Students

This is a special grant program for international students who wish to enroll in the doctoral course of our university. Applicants must have excellent academic record and have a potential to contribute on an international scale in their research field.

If you are selected as a recipient, your tuition fee will be waived, and scholarship or RA (Research Assistant) salary will be paid.

Recipients will be selected by each graduate school, so please contact the academic affairs staff of your graduate school for details.

Hokkaido University Frontier Fund Clark Scholarship

This scholarship is based on donations that have been donated for the purpose of financial aid to students. For privately-financed international students who enrolled in the doctoral course with excellent academic record, monthly scholarship 50,000 yen will be provided for a maximum period of one year. Application detail will be posted on the ELMS for privately financed international student candidate for scholarship.
