Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
In collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Hokkaido University accepts excellent international students from developing countries and provides them with the opportunity to conduct specialized research in degree programs (master's and doctoral) while receiving support such as scholarships from JICA. Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)
・ Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students
This scholarship (48,000yen/month) is open to students who are planning to enroll in undergraduate course with the score of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) or students who are planning to enroll in a graduate school that has an pre-arrival Admission system. Applicants who wish to receive under the EJU score must submit the "Reservation Notice for the Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students" to the scholarship office at the university (scholarship AT academic.hokudai.ac.jp) prior to enrollment, in accordance with the instructions of JASSO. Those who wish to receive the scholarship under the Pre-Arrival Admission system should contact the academic affairs office of the graduate school they wish to enter in advance.
Monthly scholarship: 48,000 yen per month

K. MATSUSHITA FOUNDATION(KMMF Scholarship)
This scholarship is for international students from designated regions who conduct research related to "Mutual Understanding between Japan and Other Countries" or "Coexistence of mankind and nature" and will start Master's degree program in the fall semester. The monthly scholarship, Enrollment fee and Tuition fee will be granted to the selected students. For details, please contact the academic affairs section of the graduate school you wish to enroll in.
CSC Program(Scholarship Program supported by China Scholarship Council)
For those who are planning to apply for the "Chinese Government Graduate Student Overseas Study Program" (including the CSC-HU Scholarship Program) by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), who are aiming to obtain a doctoral degree at Hokkaido University and who are recognized by the university as being extremely outstanding, there is a scheme which waives university Fees (Examination fee, Enrollment fee, and Tuition fee) for the period during which the CSC provides the scholarship.
