Hi, here is Xiaochan YAN from China. I pursued my master’s and PhD degrees at Kyoto University, where my research focused on primatology, biodiversity, and comparative genomics.
My long-term research interest is “to explain the enormous diversity of life and contribute to humans’ understanding of ourselves.” I study biodiversity to understand how the current functions of traits relate to their evolutionary origins, and how animals survive and adapt to changing environments.
Outside of research, I enjoy travelling, fitness training, trekking, and badminton. I always appreciate opportunities to exchange ideas with people from different backgrounds.
