Hello! My name is Bruno, and I am Japanese-Brazilian. I completed my bachelor’s degree in physics and my master’s degree in applied mathematics at the University of São Paulo. After that, I moved to the Netherlands to pursue my PhD in applied mathematics, which I earned in 2019. Following my PhD, I relocated to Japan, where I worked as a postdoctoral researcher and later became an ISP assistant professor.

My research focuses on the theoretical and applied aspects of probability theory and statistical physics. This includes developing stochastic algorithms to address Quadratic Unconstrained Binary Optimization (QUBO) problems, exploring phase transitions and metastability in long-range Ising models, and examining the connections between different concepts of Gibbs measures found in statistical mechanics and dynamical systems. I am driven by a passion for enhancing our understanding of statistical mechanical models, recognizing their potential to make a tangible impact on real-world applications while promoting interdisciplinary collaborations.
