{"id":1244,"date":"2026-02-01T22:32:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-01T13:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/natsuki.holy.jp\/mjsp\/?post_type=student_voice&amp;p=1244"},"modified":"2026-02-01T22:32:18","modified_gmt":"2026-02-01T13:32:18","slug":"test","status":"publish","type":"student_voice","link":"https:\/\/www.oia.hokudai.ac.jp\/mjsp\/student-voice\/test\/","title":{"rendered":"Rhea-Monet Johnson"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Growing up in Barbados I had little knowledge of Japan\u2019s existence, however, after being introduced to Japanese culture and language I grew very fond of Japan.<br>As a result of the lack of an ongoing relations between Barbados and Japan and lack of information about Japan, I thought it was best to study here in Japan in attempt to strengthen the relationship<br>between my country and Japan in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before joining MJSP I studied at a Japanese language school in Sapporo for 6 months when I was eighteen years old.&nbsp; It was during that time that I stumbled across Hokkaido University and was warmly introduced to the Modern Japanese Studies Program.&nbsp; Although I was accepted into another university in Tokyo I decided to join MJSP because its course outline was exactly what I wanted to study.&nbsp;<br>Also, compared to Tokyo, Sapporo was less crowded and gradually became a second home to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since joining MJSP I\u2019ve met many people from different backgrounds and was exposed to different cultures along with the Japanese culture.&nbsp; Our teachers and professors constantly care about us and give assistance so we can properly adjust to life in Sapporo and university life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although living in Sapporo has its challenges, I personally think that this program also offers the opportunity to grow into a well-rounded person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Growing up in Barbados I had little knowledge of Japan\u2019s existence, however, after being introduced to Japanese culture and language I grew very fond of Japan.As a result of the&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1251,"menu_order":1,"template":"","class_list":["post-1244","student_voice","type-student_voice","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.oia.hokudai.ac.jp\/mjsp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/student_voice\/1244","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.oia.hokudai.ac.jp\/mjsp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/student_voice"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.oia.hokudai.ac.jp\/mjsp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/student_voice"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.oia.hokudai.ac.jp\/mjsp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/student_voice\/1244\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.oia.hokudai.ac.jp\/mjsp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1251"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.oia.hokudai.ac.jp\/mjsp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1244"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
