I am Bulgarian who received a PhD in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee (2002) and later worked at the University of California-Riverside and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. My research interests lie in the field of linear and nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equations. The study of such equations has been inspired by theoretical physics, since hyperbolic equations arise in some of the fundamental theories including general relativity, quantum field theory, electrodynamics, acoustics and elasticity. In the ISP program, however, we only study basic differential equations which are easy to understand and immediately useful.
